Industry and <\/span>creativity<\/span> <\/span>have<\/span> <\/span>always<\/span> <\/span>been<\/span> in the DNA of the Scalo di Porta Romana <\/span>district<\/span>, <\/span>as<\/span> <\/span>evidenced<\/span> by the <\/span>many<\/span> <\/span>factories<\/span> <\/span>that<\/span> once <\/span>thrived<\/span> <\/span>here<\/span>. Today, <\/span>this<\/span> <\/span>heritage<\/span> <\/span>is<\/span> <\/span>evolving<\/span>, <\/span>transforming<\/span> the <\/span>entire<\/span> area <\/span>into<\/span> a <\/span>vibrant<\/span> <\/span>district<\/span> <\/span>dedicated<\/span> to art and the creative <\/span>industries<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fondazione Prada in Milan<\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n

The emblem of this transformation is undoubtedly Fondazione Prada, inaugurated in 2015. The concept of repurposing an early 20th-century distillery\u2014covering an area of about 19,000 m\u00b2\u2014into a hub for contemporary art has proven successful, thanks in part to a project led by the OMA studio under the guidance of architect Rem Koolhaas.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Alongside the restored buildings, three new structures have been added: the Podium, the Tower (home to the iconic restaurant on its sixth floor), and the Cinema. Today, Fondazione Prada is a key reference point for art and cinema, collaborating with internationally renowned intellectuals and artists.
