Rokin 69 is a listed building situated in a prime location at Rokin 69, in the heart of Amsterdam’s city centre, between Muntplein and Dam Square. The building was designed in 1901 by architect Gerrit van Arkel as the headquarters of The Marine Insurance Company Ltd. Although the style is often described as “restrained Art Nouveau,” the architecture is inspired by the Dutch architect Berlage.
Over the years, the building has undergone several renovations, during which its impressive original features have been preserved. The most recent renovation focused on maintaining and restoring all authentic and architectural elements, while creating transparency within the building. The interior combines new materials such as glass and metal in a modern palette with the warm tones of the original terrazzo and wooden floors, resulting in a minimalist yet timeless appearance with contemporary comfort and the historic charm of Rokin 69.

The area around Rokin 69 is vibrant, offering a wide variety of cafés and restaurants within walking distance. Hotels such as the W Amsterdam Hotel and Soho House Amsterdam are just a few minutes away on foot. Accessibility
Rokin 69 is easily accessible by public transport, car, and bicycle/scooter. The building is located a short distance from several exits of the A10 ring road (S100 – S112), making cities such as Utrecht, The Hague, and Rotterdam reachable within approximately 25, 35, and 45 minutes by car, respectively. Public transport connections are also excellent, with the Rokin tram stop (served by lines 4, 12, 14, and 24) directly in front of the building. In addition, the North-South line (metro line 52) provides a fast connection, making Rokin 69 accessible from Amsterdam Zuid station in under 10 minutes. Schiphol Airport is about a 30-minute drive away and can be reached by public transport in just 20 minutes.
