Stadhouderskade 1 is a striking national monument, located at the beginning of the Overtoom, directly overlooking the Singelgracht at the rear. Designed in the Amsterdam School style by architect Pieter Lucas Marnette, the building was constructed around 1922/1923 as the headquarters of Amsterdam’s public transport authority (GVB).
The building features characteristic ladder windows, decorative brickwork, and a rich architectural history. Unique features include a spacious rooftop terrace, private elevator, and on-site parking facilities.
