Today in Milan, in the Baggio district, Casa Seneca was inaugurated, a new social housing initiative promoted by Fondazione Progetto Arca in collaboration with Associazione Seneca, with the support of Dils and a wide network of partners including Fondazione Cariplo, Fondazione Mediolanum, JTI Italia, Altana, Permira Foundation, UniCredit, Gruppo Osama, Fondazione Monte di Lombardia, Banca d’Italia, Maisons du Monde, and Groupe SEB Italia.
The initiative provides 25 apartments designed to temporarily host elderly people living alone, families, and individuals facing economic hardship, guiding them towards autonomy. The model combines housing with educational support, offering stays of up to 24 months and the involvement of a multidisciplinary team.
The initiative is part of an already active network in the area, where Fondazione Progetto Arca has developed over the years a range of integrated services: a canteen serving 70 meals per day, solidarity markets and wardrobes, and additional housing solutions for people experiencing homelessness.
The numbers illustrate the Foundation’s overall impact: in over 30 years of activity, it has reached more than 435,000 beneficiaries, distributed over 23 million meals, and implemented reintegration programs that have helped 9 out of 10 people regain independent housing.
Supporting Casa Seneca confirms Dils’ commitment to social responsibility, which through the Give Back program “This is my Milano” promotes concrete initiatives for communities and the local area.
Giuseppe Amitrano, Founder and Group CEO of Dils, said: “We are proud to have contributed to the realization of Casa Seneca and we thank Fondazione Progetto Arca for their daily commitment to supporting the most vulnerable. This initiative reflects the spirit of This is my Milano, our Give Back program, through which since 2020 we have promoted 144 initiatives and supported almost 90 non-profit organizations in sports, culture, education, and social inclusion, with the goal of being a company close to communities and the territory.”
An initiative that brings housing back to the center as a key lever to build inclusive pathways and contribute concretely to the well-being of people and communities.
