GVA Redilco has successfully completed the sale of a 36,000 sqm logistics warehouse in Vescovana (Padua), in a location which is both strategic and excellently connected, thanks to the A13 motorway and the Boara/Rovigo Nord junction just 500 m away.
The warehouse, built-to-suit for Geodis – a French multinational belonging to the SNCF group, operating in the freight, shipping and logistics sector and ranked among the Top 50 Global Third-Party Logistics Providers – was developed by Prologis – the world’s largest company in logistics real estate development and owner of numerous high quality buildings and logistics parks in Italy. The leading international investor to which it was sold benefitted from GVA Redilco’s advisory in their first Italian real estate investment.
The asset, which is part of a consolidated industrial/logistics park, was built to the highest international standards and has obtained LEED Gold certification. This was Prologis’s third construction project in the province of Padua, following the construction of another build-to-suit warehouse for Kering and another before that for DMO Logistics.
This deal is perfectly in line with Prologis’s strategy. Sandro Innocenti, Senior Vice President and Country Manager of Prologis Italia confirmed that “Prologis’s strategy is to concentrate its portfolio in the markets of Milan, Bologna and Rome. We were therefore sorry to sell this warehouse, of which we are proud thanks both to the quality of the construction and to the lease held with the prime logistics operator; but we are sure that with this prime international investor both are in good hands!”
