Building

Architectural firm 'De Zwarte Hond' designed 'NoordBaak'. The whole is inspired by the rugged, adventurous and unpolished character of this historic shipyard. 'NoordBaak' consists of four entirely distinct characteristics that together form one powerful and natural block. The commercial spaces are located in the plinth. The adjacent boardwalk forms both architecturally and physically the termination of the development towards the water. Due to the open character of 'NoordBaak', there is a lively interaction between the functions in the building, the outdoor spaces and the quay.

Mobility and parking

From 'NoordBaak' you can walk to the ferry in just five minutes. The ferry runs every quarter hour between NDSM, Amsterdam Central Station and Pontsteiger/Houthaven. This is a free ferry service for pedestrians, cyclists, moped riders, scooters and for disabled vehicles. With the Noord/Zuid(metro)line you can reach Amsterdam Central Station in five minutes and the Zuidas and RAI Amsterdam in 15 minutes. The A10 ring road connects you with many highways. Schiphol Airport is only a 20-minute drive from the NDSM shipyard and is also easily accessible by public transport. Parking is possible in the public parking garage behind the 'BinnenDok' building. 'NoordBaak' has a collective and lockable bicycle storage facility.
