A walk through the district

An district with a rural past that was transformed in an industrial area at the end of the IX century and was the subject of an important and huge urban redevelopment project in the ‘90s. Nowadays you cannot find only the new campus of the State University on the ex-Pirelli areas, but also residences, service industries and places for culture. The construction of Parco Nord in the 1975, with its 640 hectares which extend to the adjacent borders, offers an important green lung to the city.

What to expect

A mainly residential area, well connected to the public transportation and fittet out with many trading and tertiary activities.

The strong impact of the university students with its cultural, associative and sport activities have made it possible the development of museums, theatres and leisure structures.

Lifestyle

This area is meant for those who want to live close to the necessary services without moving elsewhere: from stores to pubs, from taverns to restaurants, from museums to theatres, from the university to the health and wellness structures.

The linkage to the city guarantees moving easily. If you want to be surrounded by a lively, young and calm at the same time atmosphere, in order to rediscover the Old Milan historical places practicing sports in a big park, this is the right area for you.

What not to expect

You will not find vast pedestrian areas and monumental buildings in this district.

However, you will be amazed by the many graffiti painted by the street artists Os Gemeos at the Bicocca Hangar, and by the co-operation metaphor for the Borondo and Tresoldi society progress.

Real Estate offer

A whole real estate offer which include apartment buildings, which date back to the early XX century, restored farmsteads, buildings which date back to the ‘50s and ‘60s and others which have been recently built.

A special case is represented by the Bicocca area, where the redevelopment process has added high and populated apartment buildings to the first cooperative residences in the areas near the Sarca avenue and those which lead to the railroad.

You are going to love…

You will love Villa Clerici with its Italian garden, the poetic “Bicocca degli Arcimboldi” which is linked to the Pirelli’s “Torre di Raffreddamento” and the installation of Fausto Melotti, or the “I sette Palazzi Celesti” by Kiefer.

Are you tired? Well, just go the Parco Nord and visit the Orti Urbani: real little oases where you can breathe a calmer dimension than the city frenzy.

Behind the corner

The area is close to Villa Manzoni in Brusuglio and Villa Torretta. Not too far from it there’s also the Naviglio Martesana with its cycle path and the Velodromo of the Parco Nord. The Museo Zambon and the Oxy.gen space are easily reachable too.
