The “Custodi del bello” team, promoted by Dils, has been active in the Lambrat/Ortica and Isola neighborhoods of Milan since July 4rd.
Our team’s mission is to take care of neighborhood spaces by cleaning green areas, streets, squares, and parks. What sets our team apart, like all the Custodi del Bello teams, is that it is composed of individuals in vulnerable situations who receive professional training to reintegrate into the workforce. This initiative is part of our Give Back project and represents an innovative and responsible approach to real estate that we hope will spread to other cities, improving the quality of places and fostering a more inclusive society.
“Custodi del bello” was established in 2021, drawing inspiration from the successful “BellaMilano” project implemented in 2017 by the Consorzio Farsi Prossimo, which helped reintegrate approximately 40% of the 150 individuals involved into the workforce.
Today, the initiative has gained national significance with teams in Brescia, Rome, Savona, and Florence, indicating potential for further development and expansion. Thanks to the collaborative model among the public, private, and third sectors pioneered by the Municipality of Milan, “Custodi del Bello” is open to private funding.
In Milan, there are 9 operational teams, with 2 financed by the Municipality and 7 by private operators, tasked with “guarding the beauty” of the neighborhoods across 6 municipalities.
