On October 10, more than 4,000 people gathered at Allianz MiCo in Milan for the Volunteerism and Sport Day, promoted by Fondazione Costruiamo il Futuro in partnership with a range of supporting organizations. For the fourth consecutive year, Dils sponsored the Costruiamo il Futuro Award, reaffirming its commitment to the local community by supporting the initiative and presenting 12 special awards through its This is my Milano project.
The tenth Milan edition of the Costruiamo il Futuro Award marked an unprecedented milestone: €200,000 distributed among 100 organizations working in the social and sports sectors, with grants ranging from €1,000 to €5,000. This achievement highlights the value of volunteering and the vital role played by grassroots organizations that respond to people's needs every day and contribute to the well-being of local communities.
The event was opened by Maurizio Lupi, President of Fondazione Costruiamo il Futuro, alongside Andrea Abodi, Italy’s Minister for Sport and Youth, Martina Riva, Milan City Councillor for Sport, Tourism and Youth Policies, and Giovanni Bozzetti, President of Fondazione Fiera Milano, together with leading figures from the world of sport. Taking the stage throughout the day were Mediaset journalists Monica Bertini and Chiara Icardi, actor Vincenzo Ferrera, bike trial champion Vittorio Brumotti, and athletes Alberto Amodeo, Giacomo Galanda, Letizia Milesi, Andrea Ranocchia, Fabio Galante and Giusy Versace, among others.
One of this year’s key developments was a stronger connection between solidarity and sport, brought to life through three complementary initiatives: the Costruiamo il Futuro Award; Match Point, a workshop focused on funding opportunities for non-profit organizations; and the Sports and Inclusion Square, an open space offering tournaments and sporting activities designed to encourage participation and break down barriers.
“We would like to thank the 100 organizations receiving awards and the additional 300 that took part in this year’s edition,” said Giuseppe Amitrano, Founder and Group CEO of Dils. “These are significant numbers, but they become even more meaningful when we consider that behind every figure are people, stories and a daily commitment to others. Through This is my Milano, our social responsibility initiative, we want to support those who work behind the scenes to care for their communities and build genuine connections. The project began as a gesture of gratitude towards Milan and, since 2020, has supported 160 initiatives and 90 organizations.”
Through the 12 special This is my Milano awards, Dils recognized organizations whose concrete projects and ongoing commitment help make Milan’s social fabric stronger, more supportive and more inclusive. The recipients were Spazio Nautilus APS, Fondazione Carolina ETS, UP Impresa Sociale, Aiutility APS, Associazione CAF ETS, Autofhome APS ETS, Associazione Comunità Nuova ETS, Associazione Alveare ODV, Handicap: Su la Testa! ODV, Associazione Incerchio per le Persone Fragili, Parrocchia Beata Vergine Addolorata in San Siro and Parrocchia Sant’Anselmo di Baggio.
A more inclusive Milan is built every day, through people, acts of solidarity and the commitment of those who choose to make a difference. These are the stories that shape the future of a city that is more open, more connected and more attentive to everyone — stories that may unfold away from the spotlight, but whose impact can be felt throughout the community.
