The CubeHouse

General

Situated on the prominent corner of Parnassusweg, Arnold Schönberglaan, and Claude Debussylaan, The CubeHouse is the final missing puzzle piece of the Mahler plot in Amsterdam’s Zuidas district. Designed by acclaimed New York-based architecture firm SO-IL, The CubeHouse distinguishes itself with its bold, open, and inviting design—an architectural statement that fosters community and connection. It fits seamlessly within the Zuidas vision as a dynamic hub where people live, work, and meet.

The CubeHouse is the result of a shared vision by G&S&, Arcadis, BNP Paribas, and the ASR Dutch Mobility Office Fund to create the workplace of the future—right here in the Zuidas. This ambition led to a hybrid-timber building that will be Paris Proof upon delivery in 2025 and will feature a WELL Gold-certified indoor climate promoting user well-being and sustainability.

The CubeHouse is powered by photovoltaic panels and built to be rainproof, capable of handling extreme downpours of up to 60 mm per hour. A grey water system ensures that rainwater is reused to flush toilets, contributing to circular water management.

Among its most striking features are the Breathe Spaces—buffer zones located on the sixth, seventh, and eighth floors that connect indoors and outdoors. These areas stay cool in summer and warm in winter, providing a comfortable space for tenants to relax or connect with others. At the rooftop, a publicly accessible garden brings greenery and biodiversity to the otherwise urbanized Zuidas. Here, employees and visitors can enjoy lunch surrounded by native flora and fauna.

The CubeHouse enjoys a prime location in Amsterdam’s Zuidas—an internationally oriented business district offering a rich mix of offices, residences, retail, and hospitality. The area is home to a wide range of multinational corporations, startups, and service providers, and is known for its excellent connectivity. Amsterdam Zuid station is just moments away, offering direct train and metro links to Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam Central, and key destinations across the Netherlands and beyond. The immediate area offers abundant amenities including restaurants, coffee bars, gyms, shops, and cultural venues.
