Forlanini

An area close to Linate airport, where the industrial past survives in the grand spaces which have been transformed for creativity and entertainment, while the rural pasti is still present in the old Monluè village. The big Forlanini Park is an important green lung.

An area with a lot of urban and resident greenery, well connected to both the city center and the hinterland. Shops (both local and linked to large-scale distribution), historical venues and many associations form an important background to places where music and creativity are the absolute protagonists. Here, big factories have often been turned into spaces of industrial archeology which can drive the regeneration of the whole area.

The neighbourhood, which is green and tranquil, is a strategic location for the connetions with both key urban centers and Linate airport. Although it is not an area full of nightlife, here you will find a lively atmosphere, particularly around the former Caproni aircraft factories, which represent a major example of urban and architectural regenration.

This area is not meant for those who want to live close to the Duomo and the city center.

The area offers postwar working-class buildings with greenery and car parking, and former industrial sites which need to be partly refurbished.

You will fall in love with the story of the Caproni factories and its warehouses, whose architectural elements recall the Lombard Romanesque churches. You will be amazed by the history of the ancient Trattoria Monluè and will have the opportunity of growing a garden in the Antico Borgo in Città, an oasis of peace and quiet surrounded by willows inside the Forlanini Park.

The area is close to to the Idroscalo, the Lunapark of Milan, the Parco Esposizioni of Novegro and the Monzino Cardiology Institute.
