A “give back” project for the City of Milan with concrete initiatives to support the neighborhoods and enhance their identities through unique content unveiling the most authentic stories and locations
“This is my Milano” starts from Porta Romana district and will involve different areas of the city
Dils, a leading real estate company, presented this morning the “This is my Milano” project at Teatro Franco Parenti. The event was moderated by Massimo Bernardini, journalist and TV presenter, in the evocative Sala Testori. It was attended by Giuseppe Amitrano, CEO and founder of Dils, Andrée Ruth Shammah, Director and “soul” of the Teatro, Carlo Berizzi, President of AIM (Associazione Interessi Metropolitani), Laura Borghetto, Director General of L’abilità Onlus Association, Giacomo Poretti, Actor and screenwriter, Nadia Righi, Director of the Diocesano Museum of Milan, and Giorgio Terruzzi, Journalist and writer.
“This is my Milano” is a project aimed at enhancing neighborhoods through concrete support activities and authentic content that unveils places and stories of the city.
The initiative is part of Dils’ broader Give Back program and stems from a different way of doing business, which looks at all stakeholders in a responsible and sustainable way.
With this project, Dils intends to express its commitment to the community, mainly through concrete initiatives of social responsibility that give back economic, social, and environmental value to the territories, inspired first and foremost by the needs of those who live, experience, and breathe those places. The company, in fact, has decided to allocate part of its profits every year to associations and non-profit organizations rooted in the territory and operating in the fields of art, culture, social welfare, sports, and education.
In addition to economic support, the enhancement of the city’s multiple identities also comes through “Racconti di Quartiere” which currently consists of 6 multimedia episodes featuring as many Milanese neighborhoods virtually visited together with an Ambassador and created with the support of Jakala and AIM (Associazione Interessi Metropolitani), both partners of Dils in this project. Six audio contents are also included in “The Podcast,” narrated by Giorgio Terruzzi and created in collaboration with Chora Media. The illustration of “This is my Milano” is created by famous artist Carlo Stanga.
The first district involved is Porta Romana and the Bagni Misteriosi will host the first event open to the city: on Sunday, May 7th, a real party will come to life, offered by Dils to all families and residents of the neighborhood and beyond, featuring workshops, activities, and entertainment for all ages.
It will be a moment of fun but also of meeting and connection thanks to the presence of some associations of Porta Romana, such as Portami per mano Onlus, Aiutility Milano, Fondazione Costruiamo il futuro, Circolo Culturale Giovanile di Porta Romana, Fondazione La Comune and Mondo Aperto ODV.
The Teatro Franco Parenti-Bagni Misteriosi is an enchanting example of a work recovered and returned to the community. A redevelopment that sees Dils proudly involved in supporting the expansion activity, currently underway, thanks to which a new hall will be built and the entrance on Largo Franco Parenti will be renovated.
Another protagonist of the project is also linked to Porta Romana, Giacomo Poretti, who, in addition to being an Ambassador of the neighborhood and the protagonist of the project’s video teaser, is responsible for the artistic direction of the Teatro Oscar deSidera. This is also a cultural reality supported by Dils, which will contribute to setting up an experimental room for young people within the spaces of the Parrocchia degli Angeli Custodi.
This is just the starting point of the “This is my Milano” project, which will soon involve other neighborhoods of the city, including Isola, Maggiolina, Lambrate, Monti-Magenta, and Scalo Porta Romana and will include a mapping of the associations and non-profit organizations to involve in the upcoming Give Back initiatives.
Giuseppe Amitrano, CEO and founder of Dils, stated: “We are extremely proud to have presented ‘This is my Milano’ today in an iconic setting such as the Teatro Franco Parenti, one of the artistic and cultural reference points of the city. This project reflects our deep connection with Milan and its neighborhoods, each with its own peculiarities that make our city a polycentric reality with a mix of tradition and innovation. ‘This is my Milano’ is above all a give-back to the community, of which we feel an active part, through projects that arise from a deep knowledge and love for the city where we operate. Moreover, we strongly believe that art, culture and social organizations also need the support of private entities that take care of the common good, especially during challenging times for those who live and inhabit Milan.”
